Former Pennsylvania Governor and York native George M. Leader visited Donna's Governor's Inn and his former home on Thursday. Governor Leader walked throughout the Inn expressing the changes of the home from his memories until now. He also spent some time talking about his memories of being Governor while in the home and also his current endeavors.
George Michael Leader (born January 17, 1918) served as the 36th Governor of Pennsylvania from January 18, 1955 until January 20, 1959. He is a member of the Democratic Party, and a native of York County, Pennsylvania. Currently he is the only person from that county ever to be elected governor of the state, he was also the youngest person ever elected to governor in Pennsylvania at that time.
